There are no successful cynics!
by Chris Farrell
Printer-Friendly Format

There are no successful cynics!

Think about it.

Real success - anyway we measure it - be it happiness, family, fame, money - cannot be achieved in the face of cynicism.

Why is this?

That's simple.

Cynics love to play the blame game. Blame someone else - something else - for their current situation. These are dead end answers and dead end excuses.

Have you noticed - that if successful people have one trait - it's an utter lack of cynicism. The world owes them nothing.

They go out and find what they need without asking permission; they're driven, focused, and work through the negatives by focusing on the positives.

Cynics on the other hand - are like quicksand.

Cynics like to find other cynics and sit together - saying 'it feels good to stay angry'. They complain - often with intensity - that every slight against them becomes a gigantic conspiracy.

Here's an exercise; name a successful cynic. Bet you can't....

That's because cynics do not become successful.

To become an elite performer - in whatever avenue of life you want - be it in your relationship - business - with money - with friends -- you can not be a cynic.

Of course it's easier to blame something else - but doing so is like using a rocking chair. It gives you something to do - but it won't get you anywhere.

So no more wasting time moaning and worrying about things that you can't control.

And start spending time on things you can.

Thanks for the inspirational messages I believe that like mined people
should be around like minded people. I often times lose focus and this program
is great and just what I need to stay focused and on track.
I'm like the little engine that could...I know I can I just needed
a mentor.

Attitude is EVERYTHING!, November 20, 2010

How we see / perceive things, "our world" ... is CRITICAL!
If we perceive the world of mostly positive, with hope and good things in store then we are able to utilize our energy to ACCOMPLISH our goals. However, if we do the opposite as you have desribed ... are critical, blaming, suspicious... that zaps us of all the CONSTRUCTIVE ENERGY needed to BUILD GOOD THINGS!

I think Chris, you say this when you mention our MINDSET and how essential it is!

Everyone can get down and have had a rough week or having feelings of throwing in the towel but if that is a CONSTANT issue. This indidivudal cannot achieve REAL, INTERNAL, LIFE CHANGING (or often external, lifechanging) outcomes.

It's kinda like your body/health is what you eat.... you are what you THINK!

Thanks for sharing!

A related prayer, April 29, 2010
By Tina - See all my comments
The last paragraph of this article reminds me of a prayer I'm familiar with:

"Grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change;
courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom
to know the difference."

We are our thoughts, February 8, 2010
By Primrose1 - See all my comments
Your words, as always, are right on the mark! We have to remember that we are the creators of our own future...we (and no one else) are responsible for creating greatness out of what someone else may define as adversity.

This goes far beyond the "power of positive thinking"...it is, instead, the power of deep and unwavering belief in the unlimited possibilities we all possess.
